Kenya Airways has resumed daily Nairobi-Dubai Flights after more than two months of disruptions linked to heightened tensions in the Middle East.

The airline confirmed that scheduled operations on the Nairobi-Dubai Flights resumed on Thursday, May 14, following a period in which flights had been significantly reduced due to security concerns in the region.

In a statement issued on May 13, KQ said it would initially operate one flight daily, with plans to gradually increase frequencies depending on demand and operational conditions.

“We will operate daily frequencies between Nairobi-Dubai Flights, with additional frequencies to be introduced progressively in line with demand and operational requirements,” the airline said.

The carrier added that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority as operations continue to normalize.

“The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority, and we continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure safe and seamless operations,” KQ stated.

The Dubai route is one of Kenya Airways’ key regional connections for business and transit passengers travelling between East Africa, the Gulf, Asia, and Europe.

Before the halt that occurred in February, the airline provided 14 flights per week on the route, providing two direct flights each day between Nairobi and Dubai.

In light of the disruption, there were few special and repatriation flights flown by Kenya Airways with a focus on assisting Kenyan citizens to return home.

Despite the resumption of flights, operations across parts of the Gulf region continue to experience delays as airports and airlines recover from recent disruptions and increased pressure on regional air traffic.

Dubai International Airport remains among the affected hubs, with some airlines across the region still adjusting schedules due to operational challenges.

The resumption makes Kenya Airways one of the first East African airlines to restore regular passenger services on the Nairobi-Dubai route following the recent instability in the Middle East
