The Kenyan swimmers heading to the South Africa National Masters Swimming Championship have received a major boost ahead of the tournament. The NCBA Kenya Masters swimmers sponsorship will see the team receive funding of Ksh. 300,000 to take part in the tournament scheduled for March in George, South Africa. The sponsorship will cater to the team’s essential needs as the team heads to the tournament.

Support for Training and Preparation

The sponsorship was revealed during the joint training session on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Crawford International School. The swimmers are using the training session to improve their skills, endurance, and teamwork as the team heads to the tournament.

Nelly Wainaina, the Director of Marketing, Communication, and Citizenship at the NCBA Group, revealed the sponsorship as the team trained. The sponsorship is an indication of the bank’s dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles.

Wainaina emphasized the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles through the sponsorship. The Director also pointed out the importance of the sport as it shows how sport can be an athlete’s lifelong companion.

The Kenya Aquatics Technical Director, Omar Omari, appreciated the sponsorship. He pointed out that the sport has been gaining popularity in Kenya over the years.

Director Omar appreciated the team for their dedication to the sport and thanked the bank for the sponsorship at such an important time. He encouraged other organizations to support the sport, pointing out the importance of the sport in promoting discipline among the population.

Team Captain Peter Nduati appreciated the sponsorship, stating that the sponsorship is a major boost for the team as the team heads to the training session.

He also appreciated the team for the support and Kenya Aquatics for the support to the team. The sponsorship is the second time the bank will be supporting the team.

The bank also supported the Kenyan team to the World Aquatics Masters Swimming Championship in Singapore last year. The bank’s role was crucial in the efforts to promote healthier societies.
