Pay TV provider StarTimes is adding two new drama series to its lineup this March as it looks to keep viewers entertained and attract more subscribers.

The company announced that the shows will air on its Novela E Plus channel, giving viewers fresh storylines to follow in the coming weeks. The titles include It’s Okay to Not Be Okay and the third season of Gangs of Manila.

According to the broadcaster, the move is part of its ongoing effort to refresh its content and offer viewers more variety on its platform.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay will be the first to premiere, airing from March 16 at 9:40 pm. The drama tells the story of a man who dedicates much of his life to caring for his mother who is living with Alzheimer’s disease. As he struggles to balance responsibility and his own personal life, the story follows the emotional challenges that come with being a caregiver.

Later in the month, viewers will also get to watch the new season of Gangs of Manila, which premieres on March 28 at 8:50 pm. The series shifts gears into action and crime, taking audiences into Manila’s dangerous underworld where rival groups battle for control.

Speaking about the new additions, StarTimes PR and Content Syndication Head Myke Mwai said the company continues to focus on bringing shows that audiences can easily connect with.

He noted that storytelling remains an important part of the company’s programming strategy as it competes with other platforms for viewers’ attention.

StarTimes has also been promoting its content more aggressively in recent months in a bid to reach more households in Kenya and across East Africa.

With more viewers turning to television and digital platforms for entertainment, the company hopes the new series will keep audiences hooked while also drawing in new subscribers looking for fresh drama on their screens.
