NYOTA Project Fraud Alert: Youth Warned Against Fake Online Pages

Young people applying for opportunities under the NYOTA Project are being urged to stay vigilant following a rise in fake online platforms pretending to represent the initiative.

In a public notice issued on Monday, project officials sounded the alarm over fraudulent websites and social media pages targeting unsuspecting youth, especially those interested in Business Support, Recognition of Prior Learning, and On-the-Job Experience opportunities.

“No one should be asked to pay any fee to access NYOTA Project services,” the statement clarified, adding that all genuine updates will only be shared through the official NYOTA Project website and verified social media channels.

“All communication will go directly to the phone number used during registration. Any official announcements will be posted on our website and our certified pages,” the project team emphasized.

As reports of scams continue to emerge, young people have been advised to be extra cautious and avoid giving out personal information on unverified platforms.

“We urge applicants to stay alert, double-check information, and report any suspicious sites or pages. Do not share your personal details unless you are sure the source is legitimate,” the statement added.

For accurate information, applicants can visit the NYOTA Project office, their nearest sub-county youth office, or contact the team directly via the toll-free number 0800 222 221.

They are also encouraged to follow updates on the project’s official social media accounts.

“Let’s keep each other informed and safe. Only trust information from our official channels,” the project team urged.
