Safaricom, the region’s leading technology company, has announced a KES 5 million sponsorship for the 2025 Magical Kenya Open (MKO) golf tournament.
The event, now in its 56th edition, is scheduled to take place from Thursday, 20th February to Sunday, 23rd February 2025, at the prestigious Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi.
As the official connectivity and communication support partner, Safaricom will provide robust technological infrastructure, including a Cell on Wheels (COW) for high-speed internet connectivity to facilitate live broadcasting.

Additionally, the company will supply 4G-enabled scoring devices and airtime to ensure seamless communication during the globally recognized tournament.

The four-day tournament will see 150 golfers compete, including 19 Kenyan players—thirteen professionals, four amateurs, and two juniors.
Among the notable Kenyan participants are Njoroge Kibugu, Balala Adel, Njoroge Samuel, Lejirma John, Daniel Nduva, David Wakhu, Michael Karanga, Shashwat Harish, Greg Snow, Njogu Simon, Edwin Mudanyi, Dismas Indiza, William Odek, and Riz Charania.

The 2025 Magical Kenya Open is part of the prestigious DP World Tour and features a prize purse of $2.5 million, making it one of the most competitive events on the golfing calendar.
