The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars team is set to travel to Spain this weekend for an international football training camp.

The team of 25 players 13 boys and 12 girls was scouted during Season 4 of the tournament, which was played across the country. They will depart Nairobi on Saturday, September 6, for Huesca, where they will spend a week sharpening their skills.

In total, 32 players made the All-Star squad. While 25 are heading to Spain, the others have already earned national and international club call-ups, highlighting the success of the programme in nurturing Kenyan talent.

“Chapa Dimba has always been about opening doors of opportunity for Kenyan youth, and today, we are proud to see that vision come alive in an even bigger way,” said Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa.

“Some players are traveling to Spain to sharpen their skills, while others have broken into professional clubs. This is the heartbeat of Safaricom Chapa Dimba: empowering our youth, transforming their lives, and showcasing Kenyan football talent to the world.”

While in Spain, the All-Stars will face off against Huesca’s Youth Academy, take part in professional masterclasses, and train at the world-class Base Aragonesa de Fútbol.

They will also attend a Segunda Division match between SD Huesca and Málaga CF, alongside cultural experiences such as sightseeing tours.

“Visiting Spain and experiencing world-class football has always been a dream, and now it is becoming a reality,” said Swaumu Masungo, one of the All-Stars. “I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and use the lessons to grow my football career.”

The team will be captained by Stanley Waswa of Ndura Sports Academy (boys) and Manda Sunira Were of Highland Royals Moi Girls (girls). Coaches Chrispine Odindo of Plateau Queens and Evans Oketch of Obunga FC will accompany them, together with officials from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
