Hon. Dr. Gathoni Wamuchomba, Githunguri Member of Parliament, has been crowned as the best performing MP in Central Kenya, this is after a comprehensive survey by the East Africa Superwoman Awards.
The award comes after she was recently ranked the second-best performing Member of Parliament nationally by the 2025 Mizani Africa Voters’ Choice Awards.
Hon. Wamuchomba was recognized for her transformative leadership and unwavering service to the people of Githunguri.
Her development record and fearless advocacy have set her apart as one of Kenya’s most impactful leaders.

Her impact in Githunguri is substantial and far-reaching. Under her leadership, the constituency has witnessed a significant improvement in education through effective and transparent management of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Good use of public resources and investment in key areas such as health, youth empowerment, and infrastructure.
The Auditor-General commended her efforts, which have led to upgraded school infrastructure, expanded bursary allocations, and increased access to digital learning tools.
She remains vocal on national matters, notably standing firm against the controversial Finance Bill 2023, warning that its implementation would overburden ordinary households.
Wamuchomba has placed youth empowerment at frontline of her agenda. She has initiated vocational training and mentorship programs, promoting job creation and equipping young people with technical skills.
In health and infrastructure, her achievements are equally notable. She has overseen the renovation of local health facilities and the upgrade of roads and public amenities, significantly improving service delivery and access across Githunguri.
One of her most innovative contributions is the establishment of the Githunguri Youth in Agriculture Advisory Council, which comprises 50 agripreneurs under the age of 35. This council not only provides mentorship but also helps shape youth-oriented agricultural policy.
