Government Begins Hiring for 1,000 Foreign Job Vacancies for Kenyans

Kenyan government has begun a new hiring initiative that has more than 1,000 foreign job vacancies on offer for Kenyans as part of efforts to secure decent and well-paying jobs for those looking for jobs overseas.

Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua clarified that the exercise, which was undertaken in collaboration with licensed recruitment agencies, seeks to connect qualified Kenyans to Dubai and Saudi Arabia employers.

Interviews will be conducted between Wednesday, October 29, and Friday, October 31, at NITA Mombasa and NITA Athi River.

“By these placements, we are opening up opportunities for industrious Kenyans to access opportunities abroad while making sure that they are provided with just and safe working terms,” Dr. Mutua said.

The Dubai winners will be awarded two-year renewable contracts, free accommodation, meals, transport, medical cover, and payment for overtime, and 30 days of paid leave each year.

The Saudi Arabia winners will also have free accommodation, meals, medical cover, and transport, in addition to two-year renewable contracts.

He additionally stated that a minor mandatory commission will cater for costs such as air tickets, medical checks, visa costs, training, and paperwork.

“This project reiterates the government’s commitment to expanding decent foreign employment opportunities for Kenyans and ensuring that all placements meet international labour standards,” the CS continued.

Requirements for application

Shortlisted candidates are requested to come for interviews with the following documents:

National ID

Dr. Mutua urged Kenyans to seize the opportunity, noting that opportunities for employment abroad for Kenyans not only elevate personal families but also the economy through remittances.

“When Kenyans go and work abroad, they develop new skills, empower their families and add to the development of our country’s economy,” he declared.
