A document circulating on social media claiming to be an official notice of a planned protest against Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano has been flagged as fake after multiple inconsistencies raised doubts about its authenticity.
The document, presented as a “Notice of Intended Peaceful Assembly, Demonstration and Procession,” purports to have been addressed to the Nairobi Regional Police Commander. It claims that a group describing itself as “concerned citizens” intends to stage demonstrations in Nairobi on July 3, 2026, over the performance and conduct of the Cabinet Secretary.
However, a review of the document reveals several irregularities that cast doubt on its credibility.

Some of the problems in the document include the use of fragmented and incomplete sentences, as well as inconsistencies in formatting, which are not common in such notices.
For this reason, the document that is circulating is considered unverified and misleading.
Publication of this document comes at a time when there are growing concerns about the rise of misinformation on social media platforms, where fake documents and notices have been circulated.
Members of the public are therefore urged to ensure that they check the authenticity of any information that they receive before posting it on social media.
