KPA Announces 194 Internship Spots for Young Professionals

The Kenya Ports Authority has announced 194 internship and apprenticeship opportunities in various departments for diploma and degree holders.

In a Tuesday notice to the public, the authority stated that the internship program is for a period of one year, starting in April.

According to KPA, the internship and apprenticeship are to provide young professionals with work experience and expose them to work in the maritime and logistics sector.

The internship and apprenticeship are in various departments, ranging from container terminal operations to engineering, information technology, supply chain management, corporate communications, research, and marketing departments.

Other departments include marine engineering, civil engineering, safety and environmental management, ferry operations, security services, and human resource management departments.

To be eligible to participate in the internship and apprenticeship, applicants must be 27 years or younger and a Kenyan citizen. In addition, applicants must hold a degree, diploma, or certificate in any relevant field from a recognized institution and graduated between January 2023 and December 2025.

Applicants are not allowed to have previously participated in an internship or work experience in any field after graduating from a recognized institution. Please apply online through KPA’s career portal by March 27 this year.

It is important to note that completion of this internship and apprenticeship does not guarantee employment after completion of the 12-month training and apprenticeship program. Only those who complete the 12-month internship and apprenticeship are considered to have completed and are eligible to seek employment in any of the departments in KPA.

It is an equal opportunity employer and invites persons with disabilities to apply.
