Government Announces New Job Opportunities Across Agencies and Universities

Many Kenyans seeking jobs Opportunities have a new opportunity following the government’s announcement of hundreds of available jobs in different ministries, state agencies, and public universities.

The Job opportunities were announced on Tuesday, with different institutions requesting qualified applicants to submit their applications before the deadlines set in March.

Among the institutions is the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), which is seeking a Deputy Director of Human Resource Management and Development. The applicant must be a Master’s degree holder with a minimum of ten years of work experience. The application deadline is March 17.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a number of opportunities, 228 consultancy opportunities in connection with road design projects covering 815 kilometers. The projects will be sponsored by the World Bank and will be implemented in important roads surrounding the Lake Victoria Basin. The projects will also include the laying of fiber optic cables. The applicants must have a minimum of eight years of work experience in road design. The deadlines will be announced separately.

The Affordable Housing Board (AHB) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to head the new state corporation, which will be responsible for the expansion of affordable housing. The application deadline is March 10.

The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) is seeking a new CEO who will serve the institution for a period of four years. The applicant must have a minimum of ten years of work experience in financial management. The application deadline is March 18.

Meanwhile, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised five posts, which include the post of Principal ICT Officer and Fleet Management posts. The applications are to be made online through the commission’s website by March 9.

In the ICT sector, the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) has advertised the post of Internal Auditor for Information Systems on permanent terms. The applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution and be certified in information systems auditing.

The public universities are also among the institutions that have advertised vacancies. The Multimedia University of Kenya has six senior posts to be filled, which include the post of Registrar and Principal Procurement Officer. The applications are to be made by March 18.

At the same time, Kenyatta University, through its North Coast Beach Hotel, has advertised posts for hospitality workers such as chefs and laundry attendants. Applications for these roles close on March 12.

Other openings are available at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), which is looking for an Assistant Fitness Officer and a Senior Systems Analyst. Applications should be submitted by March 6.

The National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) is searching for a chairperson and three board members, while the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) has also advertised positions for a chairperson and four board members to help steer the country’s innovation agenda. Deadlines for these roles fall in mid-March.

All the institutions have warned applicants not to pay any money when applying for the jobs. Successful candidates will be required to present clearance documents such as a Certificate of Good Conduct and a Tax Compliance Certificate.

The announcement comes at a time when unemployment remains a major concern, especially among young people, with long queues often seen whenever job opportunities are advertised.
