Sinotruk Kenya Limited has entered into a strategic agreement with Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers (KVM) to boost local assembly of Sinotruk vehicles to meet the rising demand within the country.

The deal, in a Memorandum of Understanding, is equally expected to further solidify Sinotruk’s presence in Kenya, where the corporation has established a befitting reputation for toughness, reliability, and value for money.

By taking advantage of KVM’s existing assembly plants, Sinotruk will be able to deliver vehicles faster, provide increased availability, and improve aftersales maintenance support to its customers.

The two companies indicate that the alliance will not only reduce the delivery time but also align with their operational excellence and customer satisfaction commitment.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Sinotruk International Vice President Zhao Hua stated that the move was the company’s long-term strategy for expansion in Kenya.

“Kenya remains a key market for Sinotruk. Partnering with KVM allows us to bring vehicles closer to our customers, respond quickly to market needs, cut logistics costs, and at the same time contribute to the country’s industrial growth,” he said.

KVM Managing Director Arvinder Reel welcomed the partnership, noting it would deepen the company’s role in Kenya’s manufacturing ecosystem.

This transaction is proof of our vision for developing domestic manufacturing and providing high-quality assembly solutions. Collaborating with Sinotruk is a chance for us to support a growing segment of vehicles in the market and deliver true value to the domestic economy,” he added.

Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers, majority owned by CFAO Mobility Kenya, is one of the most seasoned assemblers in Kenya with over three decades of track record.

It trades with more than 13 global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses, Volkswagen, TATA, Mobikey (MAN Trucks & Buses, Foton and Randon trailers), Caetano (Renault Trucks, JMC & Hyundai), Basigo, UD Trucks, and GB Auto (Eicher & Kinglong).
