AUI Global has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) in a deal that will see artificial intelligence training rolled out to board members and staff at Kenya’s flagship smart city.
Under the agreement, AUI Global will offer AI workshops and executive certification programmes to leaders and employees working at Konza Technopolis. Companies operating within the technopolis will also be allowed to enrol their teams in the certification courses.
The move brings formal AI training to the heart of what is often referred to as Kenya’s Silicon Savannah, as institutions position themselves for a future shaped by digital technologies.
Deborah Bartlett, Executive Lead at AUI Global, said the partnership gives the organisation an opportunity to strengthen its presence in Kenya while supporting responsible use of AI.
“Partnering with Konza Technopolis allows AUI Global to deepen our roots in the Silicon Savannah,” she said, adding that the goal is to ensure leaders are properly trained to integrate AI in a way that benefits businesses and society.
Through the MoU, AUI Global will deliver executive-level workshops as well as ISO 17024-certified programmes tailored for board members and staff. The courses are expected to focus on helping leadership teams understand AI at both strategic and operational levels, and guide its adoption within digital ecosystems such as smart cities.

For AUI Global, the agreement marks a step forward in its expansion in East Africa, as demand for AI skills continues to grow across sectors.
For Konza Technopolis, the partnership is part of its broader plan to embed advanced technologies within its systems and attract innovation-driven investments.
KoTDA Chief Executive Officer John Paul Okwiri said the collaboration is aligned with Konza’s long-term vision of becoming a globally competitive technopolis.
“By teaming up with AUI Global, we are supporting Kenyan companies to achieve and maintain AI dominance,” he said, noting that innovation and growth of the knowledge economy remain central to Konza’s mission.
The agreement is AUI Global’s first in Kenya and adds to its growing list of partnerships across Africa aimed at building leadership capacity in artificial intelligence.
