Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has officially approved the Konza National Drone Corridor this news was announced by Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).

This transformative milestone marks Kenya’s first controlled airspace dedicated to Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations, in the nation’s unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) ecosystem and solidifying its position as a leader in African technological advancement.

In a press statement released by Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), it confirmec that the drone corridor is safe and secure and it will minimizes risks to manned aircrafts, people and property on the ground as well as addresses privacy and environmental concerns.

According to them the drone corridor will be used in testing, training, research, and innovation, providing an unparalleled environment for startups, academic institutions, and industry leaders to advance cutting-edge drone technologies in a secure, regulated, and purpose-built setting.

The approval was conducted by the UAS Multi-Agency Route Committee, reinforces Kenya’s unwavering commitment to fostering technological leadership across the African continent.
