A group of 40 cyclists has embarked on a 1,150-kilometer journey from Mombasa to Busia to raise awareness and funds for a modern arthritis clinic in Likuyani Sub-county.
The event, sponsored by World Bicycle Relief (WBR), aims to address the growing impact of arthritis in Kenya, especially in rural areas with limited access to specialized care.
The ride highlights the need for better healthcare infrastructure for arthritis patients, with the funds helping to complete Phase 1 of the clinic’s construction on a 9-acre site.

“This ride is about more than the kilometers we cover; it’s about touching lives and raising awareness for better healthcare access,” said Moses Ogola, Chair of the Arthritis Ride.
Cyclists are using durable Buffalo Bicycles provided by WBR, symbolizing resilience and sustainability in tackling healthcare challenges.
The clinic in Likuyani will provide essential services such as diagnosis, treatment, and patient education, offering hope to those affected by arthritis.
The public can support the campaign by donating to the Arthritis Clinic Fund through Paybill No. 542542, Account No. 770086, or by engaging with the hashtag #RideForArthritis.
