Kenya and Italy have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in the health sector following a high-level bilateral meeting held in Italy.
The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, and Kenya’s Ambassador to Italy, Ambassador Fredrick Matwang’a, engaged with Marcelo Gemmato, the Under-Secretary for Health in the Italian Ministry of Health.
The discussions centered on expanding partnerships in critical areas such as the local manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and vaccines, advancements in telemedicine, capacity building, and the establishment of a health personnel exchange program.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward addressing shared health challenges and improving healthcare systems in both nations.
It aligns with Kenya’s broader goals of enhancing healthcare delivery and fostering international partnerships to promote innovation and sustainability in the health sector.
