KCB Bank has reaffirmed its position as Kenya’s top sports sponsor by committing KSh 209 million to the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally.
This marks the bank’s fifth consecutive year supporting the iconic motorsport event, scheduled for March 20–23, 2025, in Naivasha.
The sponsorship aims to boost local rally talent, promote national cohesion, and drive economic growth.
Four Kenyan drivers—Nikhil Sachania, Evans Kavisi, Tinashe Gatimu, and Karan Patel—will receive direct support from KCB, with Gatimu making her debut and Kavisi returning after a year-long break.
Speaking at the official launch in Nairobi, KCB Group CEO Paul Russo emphasized the rally’s significance beyond motorsports.
“The WRC Safari Rally is a global platform to showcase Kenya’s potential. We believe in pushing boundaries and supporting Kenyan drivers while advancing Kenya’s socioeconomic goals,” Russo said.
Of the KSh 209 million sponsorship:
KSh 100 million will fund Kenya Motorsport Federation’s event preparations.
KSh 23 million will directly support the four drivers.
KSh 86 million will go towards branding, hospitality, and the Revvisha na KCB campaign, which encourages a savings culture among Kenyans.
Since WRC Safari Rally’s return to Kenya in 2021, KCB has invested KSh 800 million in the event and KSh 2.3 billion in motorsports over two decades.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya praised KCB’s ongoing support, stating: “The WRC Safari Rally attracts thousands of visitors and injects billions into our economy. KCB’s commitment ensures local talent continues to shine on the global stage.”
KCB has also integrated sustainability into the rally, aligning with SDG 13 on Climate Action.
The bank will lead tree-planting initiatives, targeting 3,000 trees, and organize an art competition for Nakuru County primary schools to promote environmental awareness.
The 2025 WRC Safari Rally will kick off at Kasarani on March 20, followed by a Super Special Stage at KICC.
The main action will unfold in Naivasha’s Camp Moran, Morendat, Sleeping Warrior, Elementaita, Soysambu, and Hell’s Gate, with the final prize-giving ceremony on March 23.
