Are you currently employed but need something temporary to make ends meet, or perhaps you’re just in the job hunt and want to stay hopeful? Well, there’s some good news for you then. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has advertised over 12,000 temporary positions across the country in an effort to enhance the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.

The positions are for 30 days only and are expected to pay about Ksh2,000 per day for the duration of time that you’ll be working with the IEBC.

Here’s a quick summary of the positions that are currently being advertised, the requirements, and how you can apply.

Available Positions and Responsibilities

The IEBC is currently advertising three positions:

  • Voter Registration Clerks
The IEBC is seeking individuals who can work directly with the public. The work involves registering voters, updating voters, verifying documents, and assisting voters in the registration centers.
  • Voter Registration Assistants
The IEBC is also seeking individuals to act as supervisors in the wards. The Voter Registration Assistant is in charge of the Voter Registration Clerks in each ward.
  • ICT Clerks
The IEBC is seeking individuals who can work with the KIEMS kits that are used in the registration centers.

Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen and above 19 years
  • Have a minimum KCSE grade of C- (minus)
  • Have basic knowledge of computers

A diploma in ICT, statistics, education, and business is a plus, especially for those who wish to work in ICT positions.

What to Expect if You’re Selected
When selected and chosen:

  • Will be expected to present your ID and certificates
  • Will undergo training, which is a must
  • Will be expected to take an oath of secrecy, which is a must for those who wish to work in election positions

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)
Applications can be done online. To apply, follow these steps:

  • Visit the IEBC official website and go to the careers/jobs section
  • Choose a position that you qualify for
  • Log in using your email and enter your personal details
  • Upload your certificates and other documents needed
  • Apply and wait for a response from IEBC

Note: The deadline for application is March 3rd at midnight.

These temporary IEBC jobs are usually very competitive because they offer quick income and experience working with a national institution. If you meet the requirements, applying early can increase your chances before the deadline rush.
