The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars wrapped up their week-long football tour of Spain on a high after the boys’ team defeated hosts SD Huesca U20, 4-2, in a friendly match on Sunday.

The game, played at the SD Huesca Academy Grounds, came after the girls’ team had completed a morning training session led by Academy coach Juan Ramón Fung.

Kenya’s young stars put on a lively display, with Denzel Omollo, Armstrong Omondi, Brian Aroka, and Baraka Rodgers all getting on the scoresheet.

The hosts responded with two goals one from a Joseph Maosa own goal and another from Felipe Montero but it wasn’t enough to deny the All-Stars a convincing victory and a memorable send-off.

“This has been an incredible experience for us,” said Baraka Rodgers. “Being here in Spain, where football is part of everyday life, has opened our minds and given us a new way of looking at the game. We’re grateful to Safaricom for making this possible.”

The All-Stars squad 12 boys and 12 girls scouted from regional and national matches in Season Four left Kenya on September 6 for the camp in Huesca.

During their stay, the players trained at the modern Base Aragonesa de Fútbol, played friendlies, and attended workshops with top coaches.

Away from the pitch, they also enjoyed cultural experiences, including city tours and watching a Segunda División clash between SD Huesca and Málaga CF.

“This has been a fantastic week for our players,” said Fawzia Ali, Safaricom Chief Consumer Business Officer. “They’ve had a chance to train in world-class facilities, learn from some of the best coaches, and gain exposure that will shape their football journeys.”

The Spain tour marked the end of Safaricom Chapa Dimba Season Four, a program that continues to open doors for young footballers across Kenya.

This season alone, more than 10 players have been scouted into national teams and top local clubs, including Shabana FC, Gor Mahia, Tusker Youth, Ulinzi FC, and Vihiga Queens.
