Kayole Starlets have added three new players to their squad as they prepare for the second leg of the league season.

The team has brought in goalkeeper Sonia Wambui, striker Calta Nasambu and Naomi Nanjala from the Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars set-up.

The three have already linked up with the squad and are expected to boost the team as the season continues.

Before the move, they were turning out for Barcelona Ladies SC from Laikipia, a side that plays in the National Super League.

They also featured in the Chapa Dimba All-Stars team that travelled to Spain last September for a training camp in Huesca, where they got exposure and experience playing outside the country.

Speaking after joining the team, Naomi said the move is a big step for her.

“I’m happy to be here. I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and now I have that chance. Coming in mid-season means I have to work hard and help the team in the remaining matches,” she said.

Sonia also said the opportunity means a lot to her, adding that she is ready to prove herself.

The new signings join other players in the squad who have also come through the Chapa Dimba system, showing how the tournament continues to produce talent for local clubs.

Coach Joshua Sakwa said the additions will strengthen the team as they push for better results.

He noted that grassroots tournaments like Chapa Dimba are playing a big role in spotting and developing young players across the country.

Kayole Starlets are currently sitting seventh on the table and are hoping to climb higher as the season progresses.
