Set to take place in Johannesburg, the event will shine a spotlight on the creators, artists, and trendsetters who have shaped Africa’s digital storytelling this year.

“Our annual awards are a moment for reflection and celebration. The TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa 2025 highlight the incredible community that continues to inspire creativity, spread joy, and turn their passions into sustainable careers,” said Sidwaba.

This year’s edition will feature a range of categories, including Creator of the Year, Storyteller of the Year, Rising Star, Education Creator, Social Impact Creator, and Artist of the Year.

The nominees come from across the continent Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, and Tanzania each bringing their unique voice and creativity to the global TikTok stage.

Voting is already open and will close on 14 November 2025 at midnight (CAT). Fans can show their support by voting once per category each day and sharing their votes using the hashtag #TikTokAwardsSSA on TikTok’s official pages.
