M-PESA Sokoni Festival has officially kicked off, bringing Safaricom customers across Kenya exciting offers on electronics, fashion, household goods, and much more as part of M-PESA’s 18th anniversary celebrations.

Launched in Mombasa on June 3, 2025, the M-PESA Sokoni Festival is part of Safaricom’s wider 25th anniversary campaign and is designed to give back to customers in a fun, engaging, and value-packed way.

The festival brings together over 150 local and national businesses showcasing discounted products and services to customers through a vibrant, family-friendly market experience.

“M-PESA Sokoni is more than just a marketplace; it is a unique family friendly event where we are offering our esteemed customers an opportunity to enjoy amazing deals on a variety of products, great entertainment, and business owners get an opportunity to showcase their products and services, connect with customers and grow their brands,” said Safaricom CEO, Dr. Peter Ndegwa.

The week-long campaign in the Coast region features community-driven activities such as Safire Connect, a platform promoting personal growth, networking, and financial literacy. Another key highlight is Wezesha Mama, an M-PESA Foundation initiative that trains and supports women entrepreneurs with digital skills and access to seed capital.

Safaricom will also host the M-PESA Agents Awards, recognizing top-performing agents nationwide. Additionally, small businesses will benefit from Grow with Safaricom Business forums, which offer guidance on digitization, marketing, and navigating regulatory challenges.

The climax of the week will be the M-PESA Sokoni Festival at Mombasa Sports Club Grounds on Saturday, June 7, featuring performances, food, and more irresistible offers.
