Karen Young Runners Triumph at Nairobi Marathon Relay 2025

The Nairobi Marathon Relay 2025 saw an outstanding performance by Karen Young Runners, who claimed victory after clocking 2 hours, 46 minutes, and 15 seconds during the sixth edition of the event held in Nairobi on Saturday morning.

They beat Spartans Vanguards who recorded 3hours 19 minutes and 20 seconds to emerge second. Leisurely Leopards finished third, recording 3 hours 21 minutes and 1second at the event that was graced by 1200 participants.

Speaking after guiding his team to victory, an elated John Njori said: “It was such a well-organized event. My team and I enjoyed the race. Coming into this competition, we knew that it was going to be difficult considering the names that had signed up for the race.However, with our early preparations and teamwork, we have cruised to victory. A hearty congratulations to all the other participants who came out to run today.”

From Left Absa Life Assurance Kenya Managing Director Waiguru Githanji, Jacinta Kamau who emerged as emerged as the fastest female athlete and  Duncan Nguura who emerged as the fastest male athlete, during the Nairobi Relay Marathon 2025.

In the women’s category, Warembo wa Badeq clocked 2:52:49 to emerge top, followed closely by Run and Lift 105 at 2:55:10. Trafford Sports Wear dominated the men’s all-team category, winning with a time of 2:29:12, while Badeq Shop 010 secured second place at 2:29:42.

The Nairobi Marathon Relay, first launched in 2021 with 22 teams under pandemic restrictions, has grown steadily, attracting 40 teams in both the 2022 and 2023 editions.
