The KCSE results for the year 2025 show the performance of the 993,000 candidates who had participated in the examination, which lasted for close to five weeks from October 21 to November 21. The KCSE results are an important gateway for candidates wishing to join universities.
Important Outcomes for the 2025 KCSE Results
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 270,000 candidates achieved a mean grade of C+ and above in the KCSE results for the year 2025, qualifying them for merit admission to universities.
Top performance was also recorded with 1,932 candidates acquiring grade A, making them among the best-performing students in the country.

In a bid to make the administration of the exams seamless, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) used 633 distribution points that were strategically placed across the country. The points were used for the daily distribution of examination material for the period of the exam.
The 2025 KCSE examination results showed an improvement in examination irregularities. The number of candidates who were accused of involvement in examination irregularities reduced to 418 from 614 that were recorded in the 2024 examination years due to tighter examination controls.
